The BILH BS Central Triage CBM Supervisor is responsible for coordinating operational activities and optimal functioning of the bed finding function of Central Triage for adults and children. Oversees call center staff responsible for Centralized Bed Management functions. Provides supervision, training, guidance, and oversight to assigned staff. Monitors that staff are following approved protocols and procedures and ensures they are responding to callers appropriately and linking them with support, services, information (when applicable), and referrals to community resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Under the supervision of the Central Triage Director, the BILH BS Central Triage CBM Supervisor monitors bed search for adults and children with respect to the policies with the purpose of ensuring compliance with all government regulations, as well as maintaining alignment with the organization's mission.

2.Works with the Program Director to evaluate program outcomes and to ensure culturally appropriate continuum of services for clients.

3.Monitors the effectiveness of the bed search, making adjustments as needed. Monitors quality initiatives (full state-wide daily bed search and documentation in EHR), including staff recruiting and training, monitoring/reporting of significant clinical events.

4.Works with other health providers and Emergency Services Division components to ensure seamless delivery of services for high need clients.

5.Collaborates regularly and provides timely and efficient communication with Program Director and ESD team leadership on central triage issues, challenges, and needs with the goal of supporting effective bed search and optimal flow of information.

6.Assists in the supervision and reviews the performance management of CBM staff.

7.Conforms to organizational standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, to ensure that exceptional customer service and patient care may be provided.

8.Utilizes organization’s behavioral health standards as the basis for decision making and to support the organization’s mission and goals.

9.Provide oversight and supervision during hours for CBM team staff in managing referrals, bed search and authorizations.

10.Consult as needed with Program Director or Division AOC to problem solve regarding significant real-time operational or system issues.

  1. Ensure availability outside of schedule for supervisory sessions and ES Division meetings and promptly respond to clinical emergencies. Provide information and be conduit for ES division management team in matters/situations related to evening/night service hours.

12.Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that supervisee’s and other identified staff’s time management and workflow requirements are completed as directed (including documentation, communication, bed searches and insurance authorizations). Ensures CBM staff documentation is in compliance with the organization's methods of Quality Assurance.

13.Participation in hospital huddles for purpose of discussing placement barriers and ongoing bed search possibilities.

14.Establish, maintain and foster collaborative relationships with inpatient psychiatric hospitals as well as BILH hospital staff. Monitor communication with facilities and increase referral pathways. Support communication with BILH hospital staff around placement barriers, ongoing bed search as well as notification when placement is secured.

15.Sets example for staff by consistently presenting self in a professional manner.

16.Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal, external providers, stakeholders, as well as other regulatory bodies.

  1. In collaboration with the Program Director, conduct ongoing review of the clinical program design, suggest and if applicable implement recommendations for improvement.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in human services field.

  • Eligible for licensure at the Independent Level. (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist in the Commonwealth of MA)

  • Knowledge of commercial behavioral healthcare practices, evidenced based treatments, managed care principles, provider development and quality improvement concepts is essential. Familiarity with state and local agencies serving the community helpful.
