Job Description

A client in Nevada is looking for an experienced truss designer with management background to join their regional design team and oversee the Las Vegas design operations. The team is comprised of 9 designers of varying levels. Duties included in the day to day are:

* Reviews and checks layout and design drawings prepared by less experienced truss technicians and assists in making modifications prior to release

* May obtain information pertaining to products that have been field modified or damaged - information is summarized and given to a professional engineer to evaluate and complete repair drawings when required

* Analyzes technical data and reports to determine if design meets specifications

* Understands the building code and applies knowledge of special truss industry issues

* Analyzes plans and diagrams, or observes and makes notes on material processing, to determine material processing specifications or specifications for construction activities

* Manages personnel including; performance reviews, disciplinary actions, team building, and accountability

* Handles conflict escalations and resolutions, and involves human resources in decisions

Must Haves:

* 4-6 years' experience in the truss industry

* Previous management experience

* Hands on design experience using MiTek

Pluses:

* College degree

* Strong MiTek design background or specifically MiTek SE

* Mid-Large size organization

This position is paying $70,000 to $90,000 depending on experience.

Skills and Requirements

Knowledge of MiTek or Alpine. Certified in Mitek or Alpine.

Managed or manages a team. Collaborate, delegate, and check projects for quality.

Truss experience. Produce drawings for roof trusses or wall panels. Pluses:

* College degree

* Strong MiTek design background or specifically MiTek SE

* Mid-Large size organization null
