Amergis Vascular Technician in Largo, Maryland

The Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) will performs avariety of hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions as directed by aphysician or in response to previous test results, including carotid duplexultrasound imaging, arterial duplex imaging, venous duplex imaging, and dopplerultrasound, plethysmography, pressure measurements, and other methodologies toevaluate patients suspected of having peripheral vascular disease. Post evaluations, the Registered VascularTechnician provides written preliminary interpretation of test results andcommunicates to the care team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May perform therapeutic procedures, such as pseudo aneurysmcompression

  • Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminaryinterpretations of test results

  • Assess patient's condition/information and determine theappropriateness of procedures to be performed

  • Evaluates patients for the presence or absence, severity andlocation of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effectiveprocedure(s) from an array of anatomic, hemodynamic and physiologic proceduresincluding duplex scanning, plethysmography, doppler ultrasound, pressuremeasurements and active or passive hyperemic challenge

  • Records test results and reports the results to thephysician

  • Documents and prepares patient records for review andinterpretation by physicians

  • Participates in quality improvement activities such asevaluating procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintainingappropriate logs and records

  • Maintains equipment to ensure conformance with specificoperational/facility standards

  • Maintains equipment in working order, performs routinecleaning and preventive maintenance per policy, and reports any equipmentmalfunction to supervisor

  • Maintains all necessary supplies (ordering and stocking)

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Vascular Technician(RVT) through the American Registry of

  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered by theAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as RegisteredVascular Technologist (RVT) or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International(CCI) as Registered Vascular Sonographer required.

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to jobsite

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
