SPARROW HOME CARE CLINICAL SUPPORT (2ND BSN PROGRAM)

Sparrow Home Care Clinical Support with Stipend Eligibility for those accepted into an accelerated BSN (ABSN) program!

Positions Location: Lansing, MI

Job Description

Position and Program Highlights:

• Candidates qualify by either being Accepted or Enrolled into a second-degree BSN program (also known as accelerated BSN (ABSN) program)
• Able to maintain full-time student enrollment with good standing in a second-degree BSN program
• Will work part-time during the school semester and full-time in-between semesters.
• Flexible work schedule: 24 hours per bi-weekly pay period while enrolled in classes, 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period during school breaks or in-between semesters.
• Full-time benefits provided: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
• Stipend provided while attending classes.
• 90-day grace period to pass the NCLEX exam after graduation
• 3-year commitment to work as a Home Care Registered Nurse (RN) post-graduation

General Purpose

• Coordinate indirect clinical functions and acts as support person to Clinical Staff.

Essential Duties

• Receives, delivers, and records messages/voice mail from patients/families or Caregivers to appropriate personal in a timely manner using appropriate telephone etiquette
• Manages the Daily Activity Logs (DAL) of all Caregivers providing direct patient care to ensure concise patient care statistics and fulfillment of scheduled visits (frequency)
• Verifies and enters patient discharges into the Agency computer system when applicable.
• Performs general secretarial/office duties
• Initiates and tracks insurance authorization as required
• Assists in various audits to ensure agency is meeting regulatory and accrediting standards, relays related information to appropriate leader when audit variations are noted
• Maintains medical supply inventory, which includes ordering, stocking and supplies filing
• Assists with clinical scheduling

• Previous experience in a health care related field preferred • Microsoft software experience preferred • Experience with Epic preferred • Experience with insurance determination and authorization preferred • Medical Terminology preferred • Previous clerical/secretarial experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED • Accepted into an accelerated BSN (ABSN) program (also known as second-degree BSN program) • Other bachelor's degree
