Robert Half Senior Retirement Plan Administrator in Lansing, Michigan

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Retirement Plan Administrator in Lansing, Michigan. The primary function of this role is to manage a caseload of retirement plans, overseeing all aspects of plan administration, answering participant queries, and ensuring plan compliance with IRS and DOL regulations. The successful candidate will work in an industry that specializes in employee benefit plans and professional investment management.

Responsibilities:

• Daily processing of contributions, distributions, loans, and trades for related investments.

• Updating and maintaining employee census data.

• Calculation and allocation of all employer contributions.

• Performing all required testing.

• Preparing required tax forms, such as 5500 and 1099-R.

• Calculating and preparing quarterly and annual reports.

• Interpreting plan documents and preparing and amending plan documents as necessary.

• Engaging in regular interactions with clients and participants.

• Filing all documentation physically and digitally.

• Assisting with researching and pursuing system enhancements.

• Assisting with training additional plan administrators.

• Preparing weekly reports for team meetings with Financial Advisors.

• Assisting Financial Advisors with employee enrollment for clients.

• Carrying out tasks outside of core job duties as and when required.

Requirements

• Must hold a role relevant to Retirment Plan Administrator for a minimum of 5 years

• ASPPA / NIPA designations preferred

• ERISA continuing education required

• Recent education and training regarding SECURE 2.0 required

• Proficiency in Compliance is expected

• Must have experience with Form 5500

• Experience with Annual Enrollment

• Knowledge and understanding of Employee Benefits - ERISA is essential

• Familiarity with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)

• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and make decisions in line with company objectives

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred or equivalent experience
