Oracle Hospitality is developing this era’s most exciting Cloud Native, Mobile-enabled, Pioneering hotel management enterprise application – OPERA Cloud – to enable our customers in the Hospitality Industry to provide superior service and experience to their guests, anywhere. The application is using Oracle’s leading edged Cloud Native and Database technologies. We’re seeking a versatile and passionate Cloud Software Architect to join our OPERA Cloud Engineering team. As an Architect, you will apply your expertise and energy to architect and implement key components of the Hospitality Product Suites. You will apply your knowledge of software architecture designing and lead software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases within a multifaceted and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for a team of geographically distributed engineers.

  • Design and build customer-facing cloud services that are scalable, reliable, highly available, secure, and performant.

  • Develop architectures for new services and contribute to the strategic direction across our products.

  • Build robust automation for the hands-off operation of services in production.

  • Work with other Architects, Product Managers, Executives, and others to develop product definitions and roadmaps.

  • Mentor engineers and help grow talent.

  • Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to leadership, team members, and other collaborators.

  • Maintain both integration and production systems as part of an operations-focused culture.

  • Stay hands-on with software implementations and promote software development principles by leading by example

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development experience.

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related streams. (Ideally in computer science or engineering)

  • Experience developing & operating cloud services or large distributed applications in production.

  • Domain expertise in Java application and service development with micro service architecture.

  • Deep knowledge of distributed system design, scalable cloud-native application deployment, independently scalable microservices and CI/CD

  • Familiarity with the following technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Linux (Oracle Linux/RedHat), performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (Oracle OCI/AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform). Oracle OCI experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with data management systems such as databases Oracle DB and Oracle Autonomous DB is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Golden Gate microservices platform and Oracle Analytics is a plus.

  • Experience in running code using GIT/GitLab and GitLab CI in a large scaled agile teams with parallel development and multiple branches.

  • Expertise in REST & GraphQL API designs and development using Java technologies.

  • Experience in Oracle JET or JavaScript UI development.

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
