    Overview of the Role:

  • This position supports the financial reporting process related to the financial statement preparation, analyze, and report results to management/operations to help them understand those results and utilize that information to increase the profitability of the company.

  • Maintain controls over general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensures adequate reconciling of sub-ledger to general ledger account balances .

  • Support and participates preparing financial statements.

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Accounting Manager with analyzing monthly financial consolidated results

  • Timely and accurate completion of the monthly and year end financial closing process including preparation and entry of journal entries.

  • Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts as assigned and analyze account variances.

  • Apply a broad knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures including technical accounting.

  • Assist with collection and preparation of data and supporting documentation for Year End Audit

  • Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned

  • Responsible for monthly analysis of P&L accounts as assigned.

  • Assist with tax/regulatory reporting as applicable.

  • Assure the appropriate internal controls are in place to properly protect the assets of the company from fraudulent transactions.

    Successful Candidate Profile:

  • Experience with preparing journal entries and account work papers/reconciliations.

  • SAP experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting required

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional accounting experience

  • Ability to communicate with management and peers

  • CPA preferred, but not required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient with MS Office applications, especially Excel
