DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: High Transit LLC assists heavy hauling companies in moving a wide variety of oversize and overweight loads. We provide specialty services for customers in the civil construction, transportation, building construction, manufacturing, Marcellus Shale, and heavy equipment industries. We are seeking a Parts Inventory Coordinator to assist in our High Transit Garage. 

Permit Coordinators are to coordinate the multi-state permit requirements and supervise both the internal and external escort drivers, including state police, in support of the shipping schedule developed by the Logistics Coordinator. Ensures that High Steel Structures, Inc. and High Transit, LLC maintain excellent relationships with all appropriate permit agencies and the various state's Department of Transportation personnel. This position is located in Lancaster, PA.

This is a 1st Shift position working Monday - Friday.

Job Function: * The incumbent has principle responsibility to prepare applications and obtain hauling permits for each state (road authority) required to insure timely and accurate availability to meet shipping commitments. Calculate costs and procure appropriate fees, when necessary. Arrange for receipt and proper, timely distribution of permits and coupons. * Maintain continuous communication with all permit agencies and state Department of Transportation personnel so that any problematic issues can be resolved expeditiously to maximize customer service and minimize High Steel Structures, Inc.'s and High Transit, LLC's financial exposure. * Assign and communicate with High Transit, LLC certified escort drivers on a scheduled basis to ensure that timely deliveries take place in conjunction with the shipping schedules prepared by the Logistics Coordinator. * Keeps abreast of network linkage opportunities with both permit agencies and the various Department of Transportation to continually decrease information and permit processing time. Makes recommendations to the Shipping Manager regarding capital and systems improvements. *  Develops and maintains a well-coordinated, efficient organizational structure, provides guidance and direction to subordinates with a view toward personal and professional achievement. * Assists in the development of proposed capital and operating budgets for the Shipping and Logistics group. Reviews weekly escort expenses for conformance to planned and approved levels. * Represents HSSI in transportation related activity such as the Specialized Carriers/Riggers Association, when required. * Offers cooperation and consultation to other High Industries companies when there is need for the incumbent's experience and expertise. * Promotes a favorable image of HSSI with customers and outside contacts in all activities and associations to further the interest of HSSI and to promote the goodwill of others toward the company. * May be required to perform other duties and functions as directed by the Shipping Manager.

Qualifications: * A two-year college degree is preferred but additional experience can be substituted. * Experience within an industry that requires knowledge of specialized carriers is preferred. * Experience in traffic / logistics work is preferred. * Knowledge in oversize and overweight load transportation, Federal Motor Carrier regulations, OSHA safety regulations is preferred. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
