WILLOW VALLEY ASSOCIATES INC Lifeguard - Seasonal - Willow Woods Apartments, Lancaster in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Monitors activities in swimming pool by performing the following duties in accordance with the CPR Training, First Aid Training, and Lifeguard Training. Works in accordance with established procedures and/or specific instructions, the Lifeguard reports directly to the Director of Rental Properties. The Lifeguard is responsible for the daily operations of the pool and the cleaning of the pool and restrooms. Guards the pool and ensures that Residents and Members are using the facility in a safe and responsible manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Must have current Lifeguard Certification and CPR for the Professional Rescue and First Aid.
  • Completes daily checklists.
  • Guards the pool by watching, supervising and enforcing pool rules.
  • Implements and communicates safety rules to Residents and Guests.
  • Reports ANY accident /incident on the proper form to the Director of Residential Properties with 24 hours.
  • Follows Department of Health pool regulations.
  • Cleans and fills the pool and checks the ladders, pumps and skimmers.
  • Provide a superior experience to all Guests by giving warm hospitality and executing ways to exceed expectations.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. *Education and/or Experience * Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Certificates, Licenses, Registrations * Hilton Brand training at time of hire

Life Saving Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid

Safety Policies and Procedures The Team Member in this position is responsible for following Willow Valley's safety policies and procedures, promoting safety, and identifying areas for improvement. The Team Member must be knowledgeable about and follow Willow Valley's Safety Manual. The Team member will be reviewed annually on workplace safety. This is a Safety-Sensitive Position as defined in the Drug Free Workplace Policy.

Complexity & Judgment

Work requires performing routine and non-routine tasks. Work is diversified and required judgment in the application of established rules and procedures but within established guidelines.

Guest & Team Member Relations

This position requires the ability to resolve issues with Guest, Team Members and/or public. Influencing and persuasion are frequently used skills of this position.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear.  The Team Member frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The Team Member is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.  The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 50 + pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing t e duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
