In this role, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly scalable and performant database solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will leverage your expertise in PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, and AlloyDB to build and manage robust data architectures for our applications. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement database solutions on GCP, considering scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. Manage the entire database lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, performance optimization, migration, and disaster recovery. Work closely with application developers to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient database models. Write and execute complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data. Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, ensuring high availability and data integrity. Implement and enforce robust database security measures and access controls. Automate routine database administration tasks using GCP tools and scripting languages. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and features in GCP database services, including Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and PostgreSQL. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, including normalization, indexing, and query optimization. In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience with Cloud SQL or other managed database services. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and its database offerings (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB). Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
