Primary Responsibilities:

  • Securing adequate supply of drug products from vendors into Optum Infusion pharmacies

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned drug suppliers including leading regularly scheduled operational meetings, tracking open issues, managing deadlines, publishing meeting notes, and escalating issues to leadership

  • Coordinate with leadership and suppliers to schedule and plan content of quarterly business reviews

  • Assess supply shortages and disruptions by reviewing supply availability and on-hand inventory, identifying risks, and creating and implementing proactive mitigation plans

  • Calculate and report on the fiscal impact of supply shortages and disruptions

  • Monitor backorders and collaborate with suppliers and pharmacies to ensure timely release of products

  • Regularly review and update pharmacy-level product allocations with suppliers to ensure patient continuity of care

  • Execute purchases on behalf of pharmacies, when necessary, to secure products in short supply

  • Facilitate site-to-site transfers of drugs to ensure stock is balanced across network pharmacies

  • Regularly communicate supplier updates and product shortages through various stakeholder meetings and online collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Teams

  • Collaborate with clinical teams to create action plans for supply shortages, identify alternative products, and communicate new protocols to pharmacies

  • Track and report metrics to measure sourcing compliance performance for all pharmacies

  • Respond to supply chain inquiries, team messages, and emails in a timely manner

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives by serving as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Cross-train with team members and provide back-up support as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement and inventory management practices

  • 3+ years of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting

  • 3+ years of experience managing supplier relationships

  • Experience in responding to inquiries and working collaboratively within a team environment

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proven to be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Preferred

  • Experience with Med/Surg supply inventory

  • Intermediate to advanced level of excel experience

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
