CITY RECORDER__
Starting Salary: $19.23-$45.68 per hour DOQ
Status: Full Time, benefitted position (non-exempt)

Position Summary
This position performs a variety of administrative and technical clerical duties related to coordinating, organizing, and controlling city-wide document management, city elections, and related administrative functions established by state statute or local ordinance.
Principle Duties
· Prepare, post, and deliver agendas and packets for City Council, Planning Commission, and Water Board meetings. Attend those meetings to take and transcribe minutes.
· Ensure compliance with state and local requirements, including, but not limited to, the Open and Public Meetings Act, the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), State and Municipal Election Codes, and the organization and maintenance of official city records.
· Prepare official city responses to GRAMA record requests.
· Acts as a notary public and attests signatures on official documents and contracts. Serve as a custodian of the records and city seal.
· Serves as the City Elections Officer.
· Administers the business license program in the City.
Secondary Duties
· Answer incoming telephone calls and questions from walk-in customers.
· Other duties may be assigned as needed.
· Cross-train in other duties as needed within the city offices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of secretarial and office practices and procedures; business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Organization, procedures, and operating details of a City/City government functions, policies, rules, and regulations preferred but not required.
· Skilled in office management duties, word processing, spreadsheets, composing correspondence, handling multiple projects with interruptions, and prioritizing and organizing workload to meet deadlines.
· Experience in Word and Excel.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; read, understand, interpret, and explain rules and regulations; can take initiative, work within a team, and deal with people in a manner that shows sensitivity and professionalism.
· Maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive administrative information.
· Ability to work 4 evenings per month (City Council and Planning Commission meetings)
Mi nimum Qualifications:
· A Utah Notary Public Certificate is required to be obtained within six (6) months of hiring.
· The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
· Must have a valid Utah driver's license
