JOB REQUIREMENTS: Catholic Charities has Special Education Support Specialist openings. The Support Specialist provides support to students enrolled at Driftless Pass School in the form of mentoring, behavior management support, and tutoring based on the student\'s IEP. Support Specialists help teachers and paraprofessionals maintain a safe learning environment. Provide extra assistance to students with special needs. Participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students\' progress or problems. Observe students\' performance, and record relevant data to assess progress. Conduct demonstrations to teach skills, such as sports, dancing, and handicrafts. Clean classrooms. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips. Teach social skills to students. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Must be prepared for physical interactions and to spend 50-75% of your day moving and on your feet. Flexible work schedule.
