Major Responsibilities: 1. Completes work assigned by supervisor/manager promptly and in a technically competent manner. Documents work as instructed by supervisor through established methods such as logbooks, work requests, repair tags, and computerized maintenance management system. Consults with supervisor/manager regarding assigned work for which additional direction is required. Assesses and prioritizes assigned work to determine necessary action. Obtains materials necessary to complete each request. As may be required by a specific job assignment, will be required to have the proper training, certification, and/or license as required by law to perform HVAC and refrigeration work. 2. Follows safety guidelines related to body mechanics, lock-out/tag-out, use of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, and other areas as described in applicable policies. Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work environment. Maintains safe operation and condition of equipment. Uses tools and supplies in a safe and cost-effective manner. Responds to all fire and other disaster alarms as indicated in the Emergency Response Manual. Assists other employees as required. 3. Participates in staff meetings and departmental inservice training. Orients new staff to facilities and equipment as assigned by supervisor/manager.
