Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide paralegal support in all stages of the contract lifecycle - including review, negotiation, execution and post-execution management of contracts.

  1. Draft contract amendments, policies and procedures, and various correspondence, including notice, default and termination letters

  2. Assist in the drafting, updating, and review of various contracts, including providing initial redlines and comments for attorney review

  3. Assist in monitoring key dates and deadlines for contract execution, termination, and renewal

  4. Ensure relevant and necessary business information is included in schedules/appendices and exhibits as required

  5. Assist in conducting advertisement reviews

  6. Create reports, PowerPoints, and spreadsheets to support legal initiatives

  7. Facilitate appropriate approvals and execution of contract documents

  8. Assist in maintaining internal contract database and contract management system

  9. Assist in the review and completion of credit applications and lottery licenses

  10. Assist attorney with contract related questions and miscellaneous needs on a day-to-day basis

  11. Perform legal research for specific state and federal laws and regulations, and draft corresponding research memoranda

  12. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

  13. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

  14. Participate in special projects in the legal department, as needed

  15. Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required

  • Certification in paralegal studies from an American Bar Association approved program required

  • Minimum three years’ paralegal experience preferred

  • Experience in contract review and other general corporate legal work preferred

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Intermediate DocuSign skills

  • Experience using JIRA and/or Icertis is preferred

  • Ability to collaborate and work as a member of a team

  • Highly organized with attention to detail

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a confidential manner

  • Professional demeanor when communicating in person or via email or phone

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills
