WISCONSIN DEPT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS Certified Nursing Assistant -Entry Level in KING, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: This is entry-level Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) work providing direct and indirect basic nursing care following individual care plans for geriatric, disabled and/or cognitively impaired residents at WVHK. Nursing care is provided in accordance with American Nurses Association and gerontological nursing standards; federal, state, and Veterans Administration regulations; the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of WVHK and the Department. Responsibilities include providing basic nursing care following a written care plan to help meet the therapeutic, preventative, restorative, spiritual, psychosocial, cognitive and rehabilitative needs of WVHK members. This includes cognitive techniques to help maintain the demented member at the highest functional level. Our CNAs are an integral part of the health care team and work under the limited supervision of a Nursing Supervisor, with day-to-day direction by licensed nursing staff. These are flexible part-time positions with the option to pick up additional hours as desired with no required overtime. Shifts are available AM, PM, NOC, holidays and weekends. Candidate preferences gathered at time of interview. LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits. Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. Employees at this healthcare facility are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by date of hire.
