PeaceHealth is seeking a Supervisor Food Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $29.12 – $43.68. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Responsible for monitoring the overall services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and stewardship of resources. Staffing and scheduling.Under the direction of the Manager/Director, this position provides operational oversight and supervision of the assigned Food Services staff and is responsible for effective and collaborative leadership of assigned staff.

Essential Functions

  • Links mission into day-to-day work, focuses on meeting organization/departmental targets, monitors budget variances and recommends or develops plans for improvement, assures regulatory compliance.

  • Recommends selection of staff, monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of staff. Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop staff, provides meaningful and constructive feedback.

  • Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the department.

  • Supervises assigned staff and assist the Manager/Director with hiring, firing, coaching, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations/management.

  • Coordinates daily activities and workflow of assigned staff. Manages day-to-day operations, delegates tasks or projects, and assures adequate staffing to meet service levels. This includes developing monthly schedules and managing time off requests.

  • Assures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provides leadership and supervisory guidance in quality improvement efforts.

  • Contributes to and facilitate in the planning and achievement of departmental objectives including implementation and compliance.

  • Participates in budget planning and monitoring. Manage costs and FTEs to operation within budget.

  • Supervises the purchasing of all food and equipment, ensuring adherence to department budget.

  • May manage inventory. May order all food and equipment in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all items are received in accordance with department procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Accredited School Preferred: Culinary Arts or

  • Accredited School Preferred: Food Preparation or

  • Accredited School Preferred: Nutrition or

  • Accredited School Preferred: Business.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience in staff supervision and food purchasing in a high volume kitchen and

  • Preferred: Hospital experience

Credentials

  • Preferred : Certified Dietary Manager

Skills

  • Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required)

  • Ability to multi task (Required)

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (Required)

  • Ability to teach and train staff (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
