Job Title:

 Adjunct Faculty - PART TIME ASSOCIATE TEACHERS FOR TODDLER AND PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS AT THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Physical Location:

 Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Salary:

Associate Teacher - $15+/hour dependent on experience and length of commitment

Basic Function:

This is currently a part-time classroom position for toddler and preschool classrooms from May 13, 2024 -- August 9, 2024. 

Additional Basic Function -- if applicable:

The CDC follows the KSU academic calendar. This individual reports to the lead teacher and may be asked occasionally to fill in for the lead teacher.  The lead teacher will participate in interviews for this position.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

 Responsibilities include:

1. Participate as a member of the classroom team, meeting weekly with the classroom team.
2. Share responsibility for documentation, curriculum development, preparation of the learning environment, daily reflections, portfolio development, and facilitation of individual, small and large group experiences.
3. As appropriate, support the classroom teacher in the supervision of interns and field students.
4. Engage in reflective thinking about one's own teaching and that of the teaching team; keep a teaching journal and share entries at team meetings.
5. Assist the lead teacher with home/school communications and attend family meetings when available.
6. Share other responsibilities associated with the care and education of young children (e.g. individual care needs such as diapering).
7. Adhere to all professional ethics, licensing regulations, and university/center rules and policies.
8. Responsible for maintaining 20 hours of "Ohio Approved" professional development every 2 years.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of an associate's degree or CDA in early childhood education or related field OR 3+ years successful early childhood teaching experience. 

Preferred Qualifications -- if applicable:

Ohio early childhood licensure and supervisory experience highly desirable.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

Special Instructions Summary:

Morning and Afternoon positions are available (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-1:30pm OR Monday-Friday 1:00pm-5:45pm).
