Fleet Mechanic Position Available!

Job Description

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers. Responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance such as lubrication, filter replacements, interior/exterior cab maintenance, tire inspections including tread, inflation, rotation, and wear assessments, oil changes, and wheel seal replacements. You will also handle engine work, including replacing alternators/starters, drive cams, brakes, springs, differentiators, alignment, S-Cams, U-Joints, etc. Utilizing a torch and grinder as needed and using a laptop to connect to the engine to troubleshoot and diagnose issues is also essential. You will track all your work through our internal Transman (TMT) software.

Hard Skills

• Experience performing maintenance on semis, tractors, trailers, or farming equipment

• Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop using systems like Vandex, J Pro, Detroit Commons, Tactical, Navistar

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 180 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Kanas City, Missouri.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-climate controlled, garage-type setting open to the elements, though break rooms and offices are equipped with air conditioning. Steel-toe shoes are required from the first day.
