Civil Engineer

BBandE is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BBandE team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BBandE is currently looking for aCivil EngineertoprovideCivil Engineering design support services to support Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects and associated efforts undertaken by NAVFAC Pacific, Planning Design and Construction Directorate, Design Division (PDC4)atNAVFAC JointBasePearl Harbor-Hickam, HI.

JobDuties andResponsibilities

• Performssite layout and grading design; design of water and sanitary sewer systems; performsstormwater calculations anddesign anddemonstratesproficiencywith AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Coordinateswith team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with the project and customer requirements
• Facilitatesthe minimization of project delays by providing technical reviews and recommendations when requested within predeterminedtimeframes
• Researchescodes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria and Federal laws and regulations and providessound technical recommendations both verbally and in writing
• Appliesinnovative technical principles,practicesand theories to the resolution of technical issues
• Coordinateswith the Government client, NAVFAC team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and various regulatory agencies
• Coordinatesandfacilitatesmeetings, makesrecommendations based on project requirements, coordinatesworkflow processes, schedules/coordinatesplansof actions and milestones (POAMs) and effectivelycommunicatesfindings to project personnel; provideswritten minutes for all meetings
• Reviewstechnical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes for both design-build and design bid build projects, project deliverables, submittals, cost proposals from contractors, etc. to ensure compliance with customer and RFP requirements
• Providestechnical support for the review of the commissioning plan, design and construction submittals, and field inspections
• Providestechnical support for the construction field activities
• Providessummary of accomplishments during weekly meetings and in a prepared monthly status report
• Field investigations are excluded; no travelrequired

KeyQualifications

• USCitizen
• Security Clearance: Secret (Tier 3 preferred) or ability to obtain
• Demonstrated experience performing site layout and grading design; design of water and sanitary sewer systems; performing stormwater calculations and design, andproficiencywith AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Demonstrated knowledge of broad-based Engineering principles and versed in the discipline being hired
• Sound understanding of technical concepts,principlesand practices applicable to multi-disciplined engineering project design
• Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel
• Demonstrated experience in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), AutoCAD and/or Revit, etc.
• The ability to adapt to new software such aseCMS, MS Teams and Zoom may also be necessary
• P.E. desired, but notrequired

Experienceand Education

• Minimum of 6 years of Design Management and/or Design experience
• Graduate of an accredited Engineering college curriculum (4-year degree)

Physical Requirements

• Mustbe ableto remain in a stationary position at least 60% of the time
• Abletooperateoffice equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Capable oflight lifting, under 10 lbs.
