Position Data:

Title:Housing Rehabilitation Specialist I

Grade:6Exempt:Non-Exempt:X_

Reports to:Construction Manager

Basic Function or Position Summary:

This position is responsible for leadership of the crew during daily installation of materials on all types of homes in accordance with work scope, including general construction and energy efficiency measures.Hours per week 36: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm. Salary $18.08 - $19.08/hourly

Security Clearance:Access Level 3 – V,A,C,R

Requirements

Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

• Installation of energy saving and Health and Safety devices such as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, duct mastic, LED lighting, energy saving shower heads, etc.

• Any caulking and air sealing as needed of interior and exterior locations

• Installation of hot water tank blankets

• Install dryer vents where needed, along with hose as required

• Installation of drywall, typing, mudding, to seal holes

• Floor replacement

• Must be able to remove all types of siding on homes with no to minimal damage and replace siding

• Install stair treads and handrails as needed

• Complete repair and installation of all types of windows and doors

• Complete installation and repair of gas and electric hot water tanks including mobile homes

• Install molding and trim

• Installation or repair of all types of HVAC Systems

• Insulate using proper equipment and techniques for all types of insulation (fiberglass, cellulose and foam)

• Install crawl space insulation and ground covering

• Install duct wrap and seal cold air returns and heat runs

• Install roof and wall vents for proper venting

• Minor electrical wiring, (outlets, lights, GFI outlets, etc…)

• Use proper work lead smart, lead safe techniques using the HEPA vaccums

• Proper use of hand and power tools

• Proper use of gas leak detector, draft testing, combustion testing, blower and manometer equipment, and utilize their results

• Contribute to inventory control by reporting daily usage of materials

• Assist with daily testing requirements for health and safety or energy efficiency measures

• Marketing, outreach, & recruitment: display promotional materials at on-going projects (with property owner’s permission) & distribute promotional material to neighboring properties

• Other duties as designated by supervisor

Supervisory Scope:

A. Number of staff supervised: 1 to 3

B. Titles supervised: Laborer

Knowledge, Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED required or vocational training in construction, energy efficiency or trades

• 3 years working in construction, energy efficiency or trades

• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer relations skills

• Goal oriented

• Ability to develop and maintain & engage in positive relationships with people from various backgrounds

• Bilingual preferred

• Strong teaming skills. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measures using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Continuous professional development expected

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, push or pull, climb ladders up to 35 feet, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand and sit

• Frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds

• Required to attend Boot Camp Training and receive certification within 1 year and thereafter every 3 years

• Required to receive OSHA 10-hour certification within 1 year

• Required to receive Lead RRP certification within 1 year and thereafter every 5 years

• Required to receive certification in Manufactured Housing Mechanics within 1 year

• Must be able to perform work in all weather conditions
