Job Description:

The Cardiovascular Center at the University of Florida, College of Medicine- Jacksonville, is seeking a full-time physician at the tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The Cardiovascular Center is a state-of-the-art facility servicing North Florida and South Georgia. Our rapidly expanding Cardiovascular Program is currently involved in numerous clinical research trials with a focus on education, clinical practice and research. Major responsibilities include teaching, patient care and research. This position will report directly to the Cardiovascular Center in conjunction with our Cardiothoracic Surgeons. The following is a general description of duties and responsibilities for this position.

  • Provide and maintain a high level of quality in-patient and out-patient intermediate care services in all aspects of intensive care.

  • Participate in the on-call schedule/rotation.

  • Provide clinical teaching of trainees of cardiology, pulmonary critical care and general surgery

  • Participate in our educational program.

  • Responsible for excellent communication with all referring physicians.

  • Assist in marketing/promoting The Cardiovascular Center to community physicians and managed care organizations.

  • Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable; commensurate with experience and qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidate should have a MD/DO and BC/BE in Critical Care.

Preferred Qualifications:

Tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor specializing in Critical Care with high interest and expertise in postoperative care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
