Insight Global Product Verification Technician - 3rd shift in Irvine, California

Job Description

Responsible for the inspection, assembly, repair and troubleshooting of aircraft avionics, electrical (high and low voltage), mechanical and instrumentation systems on rotorcraft in support of Test and Evaluation Programs. This positions primary responsibility will be the inspection of received components and test asset assembly; secondary role will be to support the team in execution of these tasks.

Shift is Midnight - 7:30am

Skills and Requirements

 Responsibilities and Duties

ï Interface with Program & Project Leaders, Engineering, Safety, Quality Management, Procurement, Program Management Office, and Test organization members in support of the following responsibilities:

ï§ Inspect components as they are received in accordance with drawings, technical documentation and industry standards.

ï§ Perform detailed measurements utilizing various simple and complex measurement tools.

ï§ Tests electronic components and circuits to locate defects, using signal generators, amp meters, and voltmeters and other measurement equipment.

ï§ Read and interpret various aircraft drawings, schematics reports or specifications.

ï§ Utilization or various test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools.

ï§ Completes all written and electronic records (work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed

ï§ Work directly engineering and operations to resolve problems.

ï§ Must maintain a clean working environment at all times.

ï§ Must be familiar with standard and non-standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aviation field.

ï§ Performs build-up and maintenance of test articles, ensuring that quality objectives, configuration control, and conformity requirements are met.

ï§ Duties of an NDI Technician

  • NDI Technician is responsible for executing the tests using the procedures and methods to determine the maximum quality of the product.

  • Performs NDT Level II inspections using the Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant testing methods on items including, but not limited to rotor blade, structure, using approved or accepted data issued by the manufacturer, FAA, or company standard practices.

  • Maintain certifications (MT, ET, PT Level II) and perform these methods on any articles.

  • NDI Technician is responsible for inspecting dutie! s, organizes and generates reports pertaining to inspection and evaluation. He is also expected to prepare reports on all testing and evaluations done.

  • NDI Technician is responsible for ensuring that the equipment's used for testing are all functioning to its maximum and according to safety regulations.

 Education/Experience:

ï Minimum GED or HS diploma required; college degree preferred.

ï 5+ Years' Experience as an Aviation Technician.

ï 2+ years' Quality Assurance Experience

ï 2+ years of current experience in non-destructive testing within an aerospace environment preferred.

ï NAS-410 LVL II, ASNT NDT LEVEL II, ASME LVL II or Suitable Substitute

ï Rotorcraft Experience

ï Experimental Flight Test Experience Preferred.

 Required Skills:

ï Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ï Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

ï Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints.

ï Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality

ï Proficiency with MS Office Suite

ï Willing to Travel

 Licenses / Certifications:

ï Airframe and Power Plant License Preferred null
