Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current facility’s capabilities. Job Purpose

The Electrician Supervisor is a position that is very hands-on, knowledgeable, has interpersonal skills, and can communicate (speak, read and write) in English in order to support and lead a group of employees. This position is responsible for supervising the daily electricians in the maintenance department and will provide oversight to ensure that projects, tasks, duties of employees are complemented in a safe and timely manner. This role will be mainly in our Irvine location and will be traveling to our three other site locations (Poway and Sacramento CA and Evanston, WY) depending on site tasks.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Organizes and coordinates activities within the maintenance department to meet or exceed company and headquarters goals and objectives.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with employees through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, and throughput.

  • Provides direct daily supervision to electrician maintenance employees. Applies motivational techniques in supervising, coaching and disciplining employees.

  • Manage personnel issues that arise in a tactful manner and partner with appropriate management for support.

  • Provides clear communication to direct reports and can disseminate information appropriately throughout the company; ensure team is aligned with and accomplishing goals and objectives.

  • Conducts meetings and trainings to direct reports.

  • Responsible for leading the team in completion of a variety of routine and non-routine tasks.

  • Responsible for personnel actions including (but not limited to) hiring, coaching, developing, training, monitoring performance, giving corrective/disciplinary actions with employees.

  • Collaborates with the Operations/Engineering/Safety Department to resolve electrical/maintenance concerns or issues.

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance; checks all electrical panels to assure that wiring and breakers are in order using skills of the trade.

  • Implement and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Prepare project budgets and related cost projections as requested.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install and repair electrical parts, equipment and systems. Assist electricians with other various duties.

  • Safely work with Multiphase, Multi-Voltage electrical systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve control networks, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, control programming issues.

  • Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Design, build and install, upgrade PLC Programs to enhance productivity.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance is completed for all tasks.

  • Working knowledge of National, State and local building codes.

  • Adhere to Cal-OSHA (OSHA) and standard industry safety rules/regulations.

  • Can read and interpret blueprints and execute on them.

  • Performs hands-on repair of electrical equipment.

  • Assists and supports the maintenance department with machine trouble shooting and technical expertise.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

  • Ability to work over 40 hours, first or second shift or schedule as dictated by production/maintenance demands.

  • Other duties may be assigned, and be expected to perform acceptable standards, any relevant related duties as required by management.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Required

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). General State Certification and or journeyman electrician.

Work Experience: 10+ years of related electrical/maintenance experience, supervisory experience. Proficient with computers, strong self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time, good interpersonal and communication skills. Is a decision maker and knows how to prioritize workload and employees. Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.

Industry Knowledge: Manufacturing environment, industrial electrical skills, knowledge of safe work practice, subject matter expertise level familiarity with provisions and applications of the National Electric Code. Experience with 110v, 220v, 440v circuits and AS/CD voltage.

Preferred

Education: Associates Degree along with Trade School Education and additional certifications

The salary range for this position is $43.70-$63.75 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
