The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking an ABIM board eligible or board-certified Infectious Diseases physician at the rank of Instructor.

This position will involve inpatient and outpatient consultative care for general Infectious Disease patients. Travel Medicine activities are available, if desired by the candidate.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement:

Individuals under consideration must have an MD or equivalent degree.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must have an interest in clinical care in an academic setting. In addition, candidates must have the ability to conduct VA research.Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Certifications:

Candidates must be ABIMboard-eligible or board-certified in Infectious Diseases.

Desirable Qualifications:

Desirable attributes include strong clinical skills, an interest in medical education, familiarity with Epic and UIHC ID consult services and a record of excellent interpersonal skills and positive interactions with students, staff and faculty. Demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environment is desired.
