Assignment Capsule

Humana is seeking a Senior Process Improvement Professional that will collaborate with the business and IT partners in developing solutions and alternative approaches to solve a given problem. They understand requirements in the broadest context of business problems and opportunities, having a broader perspective than one domain. They know and understand the business domain information (processes, rules, business data model) for one or more domains, and use this background to envision improvements and solutions.

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand a business problem in both depth and breadth, and then propose one or more solutions for the problem that addresses the need in a systemic and cross-domain fashion.

  • Co-design, guide, and support the implementation of solutions for business processes that meet the requirements of project owners, and connect to upstream and downstream impacts.

  • Serve as go-to resource for business professionals and other project stakeholders for information and guidance on business rules and processes for assigned business areas.

  • Ensure that solution requirements are properly documented, such as use cases, user stories, process flow charts, screen mock-ups, test scenarios, and test cases.

  • Create and lead initiatives for special projects, developing a greater understanding of system and environmental issues in the process.

  • Work alongside the business to review and analyze results, assisting business areas with issue resolution.

  • Identify issues or areas for improvement and facilitate follow-up efforts to address.

  • Contribute to final decisions regarding the readiness of product release.

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with all impacted business areas.

  • Mentor business professionals within their assigned business areas.

  • Initiate and develop process improvements. Present ideas to leadership.

  • Support improvement initiatives around month end close, analytics, reconciliations and financial reporting processes.

  • Create methods for rethinking routine and optimization around the production and review of month end journal entries, reports and analysis.

  • Analyze, interpret, and present financial data.

  • Manage internal and external data requests.

  • Work independently, effectively communicate and provide timely status updates.

  • Knowledge of processes and data, provide subject matter expertise

  • Provide governance for chart of accounts, EDMCS and Taxonomy collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Finance, Accounting or a related field

  • Prior financial reporting experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Access and multi-dimensional databases

  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skill

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, VBA

Required Qualifications

  • 4 - 6 years previous health insurance industry experience working in a Finance/Accounting/System Support department

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field

Additional Information

Ideally candidates will reside within 50 miles commutable distance to Louisville, KY; corporate headquarters of Humana. Hybrid home/office schedule for candidates who are able to commute. Will consider remote candidates who are able to work EST/CT zones.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$76,800 - $105,800 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
