Organization Overview:

Manufacturing and Quality Tech at Lilly, supports manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts through utilization of information and technology. MQ Tech at Lilly strives to enable the making of medicine “with safety first and quality always”.

Responsibilities:

This role will have a critical part in the implementation and future maintenance of the SAP EWM solution at Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing (IPM). It will provide the opportunity to understand the warehouse execution system and its integration with the primary SCM modules. Beyond EWM, the role will support Lilly’s manufacturing site logistic flow from in-bound to out-bound, supplying material to shop floor, and storing of material in warehouses. The warehouse management solution will have a high integration with automated equipment at the site, like Automated Storage and Retrieval systems (ASRS) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to deliver material to manufacturing and visual inspection lines.

The scope of this role will include additional solutions beyond EWM, like logistic flow monitoring tools, transportation management, data analytics, etc.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

This role will have business, technical, and application knowledge relied upon by leadership to:

  • Support the implementation of SAP EWM, become an expert in the SAP EWM technology and its integration to additional SAP SCM modules, Learn the logistics business processes, applications, tools, etc. Understand how logistics applications and tools integrate with other critical systems like MES (Manufacturing Execution Solution), and Process Automation

  • Drive the on-going site operational activities and facilitate utilization of EWM system. Examples include:

  • updating EWM system to align with production goals

  • partnering with site MES, Automation and Engineering specialists to triage & resolve issues

  • align with site resources on system enhancements and process improvements

  • drive activities and projects to deliver business driven requirements and influence the global system roadmap

  • Enable EWM operational goals and support

  • Be forward thinking with respect to technical evolutions within the SCM systems landscape which help to improve the user experience or functionality of the offering.

  • Find and act on replication opportunities between sites and functions

  • Build deep IT Quality & GMP capabilities with an ability to understand IT processes, SOPs, and Global Quality Standards

  • Effectively leverages the strength of peers and/or vendor(s) to delivery timely, high quality and consistent outcomes across multiple organizations and IT platforms

  • Leverage knowledge of the business, IT portfolio, and architectural standards to develop and quantify business cases to provide input to the IT and site roadmaps and to measure the value gained from the implementation of solutions

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

  • 3 years of Manufacturing and Quality experience working directly with IT business processes or technologies.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Demonstrated technical competence in MQ IT processes & technologies

  • Experience as SAP EWM analyst or consultant

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.

  • Expertise working in complex, diverse landscapes (business, technology, regulatory, partners, providers, cultures)

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and leverage key internal and external cross-functional relationships to develop ideas, solutions, and opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and influence integration points with site processes, functions, business leaders, and vendor

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new business processes and effectively translate those to technical and application needs

  • Understanding of GMP requirements and experience delivering within those requirements Previous experience supporting IT and Automation at manufacturing sites or related businesses, with experience developing an understanding of needs, opportunities, and challenges

  • Experience supporting GMP Operations Previous experience with Computer System, validation, strong problem-solving, analytical and process improvement skills, good verbal, and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence peers and business partners

  • Ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution

  • Ability to thrive in a complex, changing environment with multiple competing priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, facilitate, and drive towards risk-based decision making

  • Experience working with third party providers

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form (in English), with proven success at delivering key messages to both management and peers across multiple business functions

Additional Information:

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • After hours on call support as needed
