Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Oversees and coordinates all aspects of aggregate operations at the plant. Primarily responsible for the oversight, coordination, and planning of daily production activities to ensure uninterrupted supply, and delivery of products to our customers. Enhances efficiencies in operations, while maintaining a strong safety culture.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Walks the plant on a daily basis in order to identify any hazards, risks, or areas in need of maintenance or housekeeping.

  • Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing,performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.

  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors site activities.

  • Oversees the maintenance of equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.

  • Troubleshoots production problems and takes preventive or corrective action.

  • Recommends changes to improve quality and reduce costs.

  • Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules

  • Provides opportunities for training on routine preventive maintenance activities.

  • Investigates abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine the cause and makes adjustments, repairs, or modifications as needed, either directly or through maintenance.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Ensures that team members practice and promote safety in such ways as, including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Ensure that all employees are properly task-trained for all activities within their job description, as well as for any additional projects are tasks that they may be asked to undertake. Ensure record-keeping of training is properly maintained.

  • Informs inspections on completed jobs.

  • Ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety codes, and local, state, and Federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.

  • Analyses operational data and reconfigures operating area(s) as necessary to provide adequate, economical service.

  • Plans, schedules, and monitors all work being performed.

  • Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.

  • Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.

  • Ensure that all employees are aware of incident reporting protocols and report all accidents, injuries, and near misses as soon as possible, and in accordance with protocols.

  • Ensure that all employees complete annual Convergence training and other required training.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or seven years of experience may be substituted for a degree

Field of Study Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Concrete Industry Management, Construction Engineering, or Business Management.

Required Work Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic PC skills using Microsoft Office Application. Prior SAP experience is helpful, but not required.

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel locally for training or to provide support to other plants.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
