Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the technical content and control of the procedures and processes used in the maintenance of aircraft, airframe, and engines. Develops and/or authors procedures to implement new inspections for improving reliability/airworthiness of aircraft, engines, or their components. Evaluates new equipment and merging technologies to meet new or future inspection needs. Identifies opportunities for improving the reliability and/or efficiency of existing procedures and processes. Acts as primary contact/liaison with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and between Engineering and Inspection organizations for procedural or process issues. Recommends appropriate inspection processes for non-routine damage occurrences, reviews new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) inspection requirements to ensure accuracy and investigates and recommends inspection alternatives.
Provide work direction to align with an operational plan to aircraft inspectors
Short term guidance and direction to inspectors as needed
Ensures quality control procedures and inspections are carried out in accordance with Federal Air Regulations and the United Airlines Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP)
Position is a supervisory member of the Air Carriers Inspection Unit in compliance with 14CFR121.369(8) and 14CFR121.371b and as such has inspection decision authority and responsibility
May support other Air Operators in the performance of maintenance and is responsible to ensure the work performed follows the customers regulatory and maintenance program requirements
Participates as a partner with overall Maintenance Team to ensure quality systems are in place and effective.
Apply continuous process improvements for reliability and/or efficiency of existing procedures
Monitor and control compliance to FAA Approved Required Inspections and other Inspection tasks performed
Apply Continuous Process Improvement and implement process, tooling and systems improvement initiatives as appropriate
Works with management to collaborate with industry, regulatory and/or governmental agencies to establish policies and procedures governing the future of the industry
Supports the evaluation of new equipment and emerging technologies to meet new and future inspection needs

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant work experience
5+ years of inspection experience at a large transport aircraft facility
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Knowledge of Federal Airline Regulations (FARs) - especially 121, 145 and 25
Experience supervising maintenance or inspection personnel
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
