JPMorgan Chase Risk Management - Transaction Risk - Senior Associate in Houston, Texas

As a Transaction Risk Management - Senior Associate, you play a key role in monitoring and reviewing intraday and overnight overdrafts that result from Treasury Service Products. The team is charged with effectively balancing client payments flows with prudent risk management. The team interacts with Credit Officers, Coverage Bankers, Treasury Service Officers and Client Service Professionals.

The work is fast pace and varied due to the number of different client situations that are encountered. Team members often say, I learn something new every day. The work revolves around Treasury Service Products and allows you to learn how Treasury Service products interact in daily cash management for the client. You will use a number of different systems, both mainframe and web based to identify patterns of behavior and what is normal for a given client.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review of payment activity in both domestic and international DDAs

  • Approval of overnight overdrafts within your authority with escalation to Credit for overdrafts above your authority.

  • Follow up with coverage team (Banker, Treasury Service Officer, Client Service Officer or Credit Officer) or directly with client on aged overdrafts.

  • Investigate intraday overdraft over limits to determine if under lying facility or account structure needs to change to improve payment flow.

  • Approval or escalation to credit of intraday overdrafts related to wire or book transfer activity, automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and items related to international collections.

  • Review of Treasury Service related facilities, like intraday lines or operating lines that support treasury products.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customer Service, Treasury Service Product Management or related areas.

  • To be a self-starter capable of working in a time sensitive environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • PC literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Work and MS Excel

  • Comfortable prioritizing daily work on your own

  • Good problem solving skills
