Responsibilities

Coordinates patient care/ clinical support. will also provide all clinical clerical duties for their patient population.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Reviews and analyzes medical records of all new patient referrals.

  2. Recognizes and triages urgent cases.

  3. Prepares new patient packets.

  4. Calls no show patients to schedule new appointment and informs surgeon of status.

  5. Communicates patient care needs to surgeon in a timely manner.

  6. Obtains authorization / pre‐certification for and schedules: patient appointments, labs, and hepatology procedures and tests. Reviews instructions with patients.

  7. Reviews lab results with surgeon and discusses results with patient.

  8. Obtains accurate and complete orders. Obtains new orders when necessary.

  9. Obtains all necessary medical records, test results, films, etc., needed for patient visits. Verifies accuracy of patient information upon arrival for each visit and updates in system as needed.

  10. Completes prescription refills.

  11. If needed, enters discharge medications into outpatient record.

  12. Rooms patients and Performs and Accurately records blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight. Reviews allergies and current medications.

  13. Provides direct patient care as delegated by the surgeon. Performs initial patient intake and documents information in the medical record.

  14. Performs and documents general therapeutic/diagnostic measures in the medical record.

  15. Continually Assesses patient flow and communicates with clinic staff in order to appropriately communicate waiting time and delays to patients in a positive, responsible manner.

  16. Schedules MRIs, CTs, Ultrasounds, and other tests as needed

  17. Answers and prioritizes telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Medical Assistant Certification

  • Two (2) years of experience

Pay Range

$16.30 - $22.42 /hour
