Associate Graphic Designer

Position Description/Job Responsibilities

The Associate Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and engaging assets that support selling efforts consistent with KBR’s strategic plan and business goals. The Associate Graphic Designer accomplishes this by creating graphics to help communicate to audiences on multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate is highly creative, passionate about design, collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to grow, learn and make the role their own.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under broad and sometimes direct guidance:

  • Maintain a strong sense of accountability and ownership while working on client-facing deliverables where customers expect high-quality, fully compliant, winning proposals.

  • Create strategic and original visual content that adheres to brand standards and reinforces KBR's position as a market leader.

  • Design and develop graphics and illustrations across multiple platforms, including proposals, fact sheets, conference materials, print and digital signage, and other collateral.

  • Operate computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print, and store text, illustrations, graphs, charts, etc.

  • Create and maintain files for all creative assets and resources, such as software, art materials, and special fonts, needed for documentation and reference purposes.

  • Translate conceptual ideas into effective design, formulate concepts, and render illustration and detail from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience: Undergraduate degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or equivalent preferred.

  • Design: Knowledge of layout, graphic design fundamentals, typography, and color theory.

  • Computer skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft 365 suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint, as well as possess demonstrated experience in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other graphic design software on the Windows platform. Motion/video-editing skills are a bonus but not required.

  • Team player: Works well independently and in an intensely collaborative team environment, including in a supporting role.

  • Attention to detail: Possesses a meticulous attention to detail, with a strong eye for visual composition.

  • Flexibility: Able to adjust to frequent changes in priorities, effectively managing time and working across multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Includes willingness to work overtime, weekends, etc., on short notice.

  • Communication: Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions, and checks for understanding.

  • Creativity: Must be intellectually curious with strong creative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas for concept development.

  • Portfolio: Online portfolio required.
