MD Anderson Cancer Center Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) - Colon & Rectal Surgery - Outpatient in Houston, Texas

SUMMARY

Direct Clinical/Patient Care at Texas Main Campus (TMC) and Houston Area Locations (HALs). The position is primarily designated for outpatient clinical responsibilities and as needed to Operating Room with Supervising surgeon in Colorectal Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will have current or recent Surgery and/or Oncology experience. Open to new graduates. Advanced Practice Providers (APRN) are required to have First Assist Certification.

The position is primarily designated for inpatient clinical responsibilities in a Colorectal Surgery Clinic. The ideal candidate will have current or recent Surgery and/or Oncology experience. Open to new graduates. Must be open to traveling to our Houston Area Locations (HALs).

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Patient Care Collaborate with physician and team in the management of Colorectal Surgical Oncology Patients in one or multiple areas of the department. EDUCATION

Required: Degree requirements as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Required: Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. Related authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

MAY BE REQUIRED: Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.

Must meet the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) , ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in one of following department: Pediatrics - Patient Care (113100).
