Position Summary The Avionics Technician supports the repair stations avionics needs by installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting and repairing avionics equipment such as radio, navigation, autopilot or other control systems in aircraft. Required Duties and Responsibilities - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required duties and responsibilities. Research technical data and perform inspection, testing, adjusting, and repair of avionics equipment. Inspect components of avionics equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation. Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness. Continual use of test equipment, such as comm/nav/pulse simulators, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers. Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results. Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents. Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications. Keep records of maintenance and repair work. Occasional travel to perform duties away from base. Repair and maintenance of company equipment. Maintains reliable, regular, and predictable attendance. Successful completion and favorable results of pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check. Adhere to all Aero Air policies and standards of conduct. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Ability to travel 10% of the time. Must maintain a valid U.S./state issued driver\'s license with clean driving record. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software including applications and programming. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to apply relating specifically to the duties and responsibilities of the position. The ability to demonstrate poise, tact, and professionally interact and communicate with employees, vendors, and individuals at all levels of the organization and community.
