JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Human Research Technologist to o rganize lab materials, conduct data collection, interact with study participants, monitor incoming data for accuracy , ensure lab compliance and safety, and maintain study information/databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Recruit and schedule subjects/participants for lab visits

  • Collect and record data in accordance with research objectives

  • Maintain subject/participant database

  • Organize lab materials, conduct data collection, monitor incoming data for accuracy

  • Troubleshoot for technical problems and maintain the integrity of the project protocol

  • Monitor the safety and confidentiality of the project and its subjects/participants

  • Assist the Principal Investigator with Institutional Review Board amendments, continuations, and renewals

  • Ensure all lab personnel have appropriate training for work with human subjects

  • Code and score observational data

  • Ensure data is scored and entered correctly and reconciled per guidelines from the Principal Investigator

    Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor's d egree preferred) plus 1 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited term position funded for one year of date of hire, with a possibility of refunding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
