JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Laboratory of Dr. Guohong Li, in the Department of Neurosurgery, at the Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking one junior faculty at Assistant Professor or Instructor level (non-tenure track). The lab centers on translational neurovascular research, with current focus on novel mechanisms and innovative therapeutic approaches of ischemic stroke (newly NIH-funded grants from now through 2028). We utilize a variety of approaches including biochemical, proteomic, genomic, genome editing, pharmacological, mouse models and behavioral tests in our projects.

The candidate should have evidence of prior productive scientific work in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience in the study of neurological diseases, neuropathology, gene regulation, bioinformatics analysis, and/or use of mouse stroke models is preferred.

We have several on-going collaborations with labs across the country that bring different expertise, which provide ample opportunities to work with leading experts in different field of neuroscience. This position is located at the Penn State College of Medicine campus in Hershey, PA that is a relatively small town with affordable living expense with easy access to neighboring major cities (e.g., Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York).

This is a limited-term non-tenure line position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
