JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Associate Dean for Research Office, in Hershey, PA is seeking an Education Program Coordinator.

This position will provide support and assistance in the development and delivery of educational and research related physician-scientist development programs in the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies to help create a nurturing community and infrastructure that prepares trainees for a sustainable research career, and forges a sustainable physician-scientist career development pipeline.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Providing program support for educational and research related programs in the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies including the Physician-Scientist Training Program, the College of Medicine Centers Committee, the MD/PhD program and other programs as needed

  • Facilitating the administration of the above programs to ensure quality and effectiveness

  • Assisting program directors with developing, tracking and submitting key performance metrics and promotional and operational goals and objectives as well as conducting data collection and analysis

  • Coordinating, managing and maintaining program materials, meetings, email boxes, sessions and speakers

  • Managing other program logistics including tracking cohorts, members and session attendance

  • Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring to achieve program goals and objectives within budget

  • Implementing and maintaining program data storage, communications and record keeping

  • Written communication skills to coordinate, develop and distribute information and materials to multiple internal stakeholders including students/trainees; program directors; committee members; faculty members; the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies; Dean's Office; 8 Basic Science departments; 20 Clinical departments, and 5 Institutes across the COM

In addition to having a strong background in managing educational programs, the ideal candidate must also have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to help support but more importantly to help grow programs that are vital to the educational and research missions of the College of Medicine.

This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 6 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $61,000.00
