City of Hermitage Police Officer in Hermitage, Pennsylvania

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a citizen of the United States.                             
  • Must be of good character and habits.
  • Must pass a physical examination and police officer selection test given at Pennsylvania CareerLink @ Mercer County.
  • Must be age 21 before the deadline for submitting applications.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalency certification.
  • Must have current Pennsylvania Act 120 certification and a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

The City of Hermitage is a third class, home rule city consisting of over 30 square miles and approximately 17,000 residents. The department consists of 33 full-time officers including criminal investigators, corporals, sergeants, deputy chiefs and chief of police and civilian support staff. The department has a K-9 unit and 2 school resource officers, an excellent police station facility and equipment. The department regularly provides specialized officer training opportunities and several officers have graduated from the FBI National Academy.

Officers can reside anywhere in Mercer County and in parts of Lawrence County and eastern Ohio.
