Insight Global IT Systems Specialist (Hen Hud) in Hastings On Hudson, New York

Job Description

An employer is looking for an IT Systems Specialist to sit onsite within a school district in Westchester County, NY. This person will be spending 100% of their day handling L2 IT support. They will be supporting staff members and students throughout the district, working directly with executives, teachers, and staff in order to resolve tickets within ServiceNow. This could include maintenance or troubleshooting of servers, SAN administration, systems troubleshooting, managing group policies and active directory administration, handling device management through Intune or JAMF, etc. as well as providing day to day software and application and networking support, troubleshooting and break fixing desktop PCs, printers, smartboards, and phones. They will be completing, on average, about 8-14 tickets a day. This person will also be responsible for helping the more junior staff on site in terms of direction and technical guidance. They should have a strong understanding and ability to support networks and troubleshoot issues, with prior experience in a networking focused role. During the summer months, they will be doing project work such as new technology roll outs, migrations, upgrades, etc. This individual needs to have strong communication and sharp customer service skills in order to communicate issues and solutions with the staff they are supporting. This person needs to be comfortable in the pay range of $28-32/hr and conversion at the salary of $60K.

Skills and Requirements

4-5+ years of experience in IT support

Experience troubleshooting Level 2 software and systems incidents

Strong recent experience with Active Directory administration and Group Policies

Experience with MS Intune or MS Deployment Toolkit to automate the deployment of desktops & servers

Strong experience in a Windows Server environment, maintaining and troubleshooting servers

Strong experience with VMware

Experience with SAN (Storage Area Network) administration

Strong recent experience with que management, working with a ticketing system

Strong communication, eagerness to learn, and customer service skills Experience working in the educational/instructional field, or working in IT at their college

Strong recent experience using ServiceNow as a ticketing system Experience with Google Workspace

Networking expertise

Experience with Apple products and JAMF for device management null
