Training opportunities will be offered in May and June. Dates will be confirmed during the interview process.

Additional Details:

• All training is hosted at and paid for by Thornapple Manor. Class attendees are also paid $16.25 hourly during training and for hours worked as a Temporary Nurse Aide. 
• Mandatory perfect attendance is required during class dates.
• Week 1 is instructional at Thornapple Manor, including classroom and online training.  
• Week 2 is clinical at Thornapple Manor. You will work in the neighborhoods hands on applying what you learned in week 1.
• Once completing the State of Michigan certification exams and activating your CNA certification, the rate of pay will increase to $18.66 hourly. In addition, CNA positions are eligible for $3.20 Direct Care Wage through September 2024.

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with our established nursing care procedures, and as my be directed by your supervisors, i.e., Nurse Leader, Neighborhood Nurse, Neighborhood Coordinator.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personal Nursing Care Functions:

Participate and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.

Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.

Assist residents with daily dental and mouth care (i.e., brushing teeth/dentures, oral hygiene, special mouth care, etc.).
