Description:

Under the direction of the Cardiovascular Service Line Nurse Director as well as the CAD Program Coordinator, RN will participate and collaborate on an outpatient multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery. This team supports, guides, and educates the patient and their family regarding the surgical process across the continuum. This dedicated professional will assess needs of the patient, plan, care, implement the plan, and evaluate the patient’s responses towards the goals. This RN will advocate and help navigate patients and their families through the various complexities of the healthcare system.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Part-Time

  • 24-hour position, Day Shift

  • Weekend and holiday rotation.

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively.

  • Excellent Communicator : Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family member.

  • Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.

  • Technical Familiarity: Understanding in computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

  • Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.

Requirements :

  • Education : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.

  • Licensure : Current Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.

  • Certification : BLS (AHA/ARC).

  • Experience : 3 years nursing experience within a CV Surgical Line unit. Experience working along a CV Surgical team. Sound knowledge of a healthcare system.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Effective communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.

  • Certification: ACLS and Stroke Certification preferred.
