Come join our Perfusionist team at Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!

Position Purpose

Under limited supervision of the Chief Perfusionist and operating surgeon, sets up, operates, and manages complex technical life support equipment required for patients undergoing open heart surgery. Investigates and evaluates new technologies for improved quality and increased efficiency. Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites.

What you will do

  • Must understand we exist for the patients and their care is the number one priority.

  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family member.

  • Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.

  • Understanding in computer-based applications, email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in sciences; graduate of perfusion school.

  • ABCP certified or certification eligible, AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification, CT state license or eligible if new graduate.

  • BLS required; 1-year clinical experience or new graduate with a minimum of 50 cases. Test must be passed within two test cycles after 50 cases are completed.
