CVS Health invites a skilled Observability Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our technological forefront, impacting healthcare delivery. In this critical role, you will be entrusted with the architecture and continuous refinement of our comprehensive observability data platform. As a vital member of our Observability team, this role will collaborate with observability operations and governance teams, business and application partners, as well as service management and IT operations teams. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing data integrity, streamlining data processes, and broadening the scope of actionable insights derived from complex operational datasets. You will be instrumental in constructing, optimizing, and sustaining a robust enterprise data pipeline and central data platform. Your focus will be on the seamless gathering, processing, transformation, delivery and storage of operational data. The ideal candidate is experienced in developing and managing enterprise data pipelines and large-scale analytics architectures, as well as proficient in query languages like SPL2, Query-DSL, and ES|QL and has programming experience with languages like Python, C++, and/or Java.

Key Responsibilities:• Architect and cultivate a scalable, state-of-the-art observability data platform, employing tools like Splunk and Elastic ELK stack to harness critical operational data.• Innovate and refine enterprise data models, with a focus on bolstering data performance, reliability, and operational intelligence.• Support enterprise data lifecycle and data management policy and strategy including enterprise data / logging related architecture. • Spearhead the development of sophisticated data pipelines, utilizing an array of technologies such as Cribl, Confluent, Kafka, Flink, Ni-Fi, and/or related technologies to enable seamless data collection and processing.• Optimize data flows, data tiering, classification, transformation, reduction and long-term storage and retrieval strategies in high-scale environments within the enterprise observability architecture to ensure efficient data processing and delivery.• Experience with cost reduction strategies for both licensing and storage (e.g., DDAS and SVC optimizations and cost reductions)• Engage in strategic collaborations across the IT landscape, syncing observability platforms with diverse systems to unlock a unified view of operational data.• Champion the evolution of our data platform architecture, ensuring robust scalability to meet burgeoning data demands while maintaining peak performance.• Drive the observability data platform's ongoing enhancement by integrating the latest technological advancements and best practices, ensuring CVS Health leads in healthcare analytics.• Vigilantly oversee data security, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements and internal data governance standards to safeguard patient and operational data.• Experience with DevOps principals including CI/CD pipelines & GitHub• Understanding of enterprise Master Data Management concepts and data lifecycle approaches are a plus.

Required Skills and Qualifications:• 7+ years experience managing expansive data platforms like Splunk and Elastic ELK stack, reflecting a deep understanding of observability in a complex ecosystem.• 6+ years Mastery in crafting and maintaining high-volume data pipelines, with hands-on proficiency in industry-leading tools such as Cribl, Confluent, Kafka, Flink, Amazon AWS, Ni-Fi and/or related data management platforms.• A robust grasp of contemporary data modeling techniques, data architecture strategies, and the intricacies of data platform architecture.• A proven track record of effective cross-disciplinary collaboration, exhibiting the ability to meld technical prowess with business acumen.• Exceptional problem-solving aptitude, adept at navigating the fast-paced challenges inherent in a dynamic healthcare IT environment.• Stellar communication skills, capable of distilling complex technical data solutions into comprehensible insights for diverse audiences.• Experience with project management as a driver and/or key contributor• Proficiency developing queries in languages like SPL2 and Query-DSL and experience programming with languages like Python, C++, and/or Java.

Education-

Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience(HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$124,372.50 - $247,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
