General Information:

The Department of Health Professions in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a shared position within the Department of Health Professions (Health Services Administration program) and the Department of Health Sciences. The Health Services Administration program, one of five academic programs within the Department of Health Professions, is a Full Certified Member of AUPHA and is a leading program nationally in undergraduate education in health administration. The Department of Health Sciences offers the largest undergraduate major at the university. This faculty member will have opportunities to work collaboratively with faculty from Athletic Training, Dietetics, Health Services Administration, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies programs within Health Professions as well as faculty from Health Sciences and other departments within the College regarding teaching, scholarship, or service. Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will: * Teach undergraduate courses within the AUPHA-certified Health Services Administration program and the Department of Health Sciences * Assist in on-going program development, including increasing inclusivity and accessibility within the curriculum * Advise undergraduate students * Participate in and mentor scholarship and community-based outreach and training programs in areas of expertise * Participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels * Demonstrate a commitment toward building an equitable scholarly environment

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: 1. Earned doctoral degree in Health Services Administration or related field; ABD applicants will be considered with evidence of continued progress and completion of degree required by time of appointment 2. Experience with and/or potential to teach health services administration, health sciences, or related courses 3. Evidence of student engagement (e.g., engaged learning, community or civic engagement) and student development 4. Commitment to an inclusive environment within and beyond the classroom 5. Documented scholarly agenda and engagement in scholarly activity 6. Documented professional service in the academic or healthcare setting Preferred qualifications: 1. Experience or expertise in teaching a variety of healthcare administration and health sciences courses, including but not limited to: ambulatory care, health analytics, healthcare economics, healthcare finance, healthcare law and ethics, health statistics, quality management, and/or U.S. and global health care systems 2. Record of scholarly dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and/or creative works 3. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with faculty across disciplines and departments 4. Experience with interprofessional/interdisciplinary education or practice
