General Information:

The Department of Health Professions in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. This faculty will serve as the Program Director of the Health Services Administration program. The Health Services Administration program, one of five academic programs within the Department of Health Professions, is a Full Certified Member of AUPHA and is a leading program nationally in undergraduate education in health administration. This faculty will have opportunities to work collaboratively with faculty from Athletic Training, Dietetics, Health Services Administration, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies programs and other departments within the College regarding teaching, scholarship, or service. Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will: * Oversee the administration of the Health Services Administrat on program * Lead programmatic curriculum development and assessment * Maintain AUPHA certification * Coordinate strategic and long-range planning for the program * Collaborate with program faculty in teaching undergraduate courses * Advise undergraduate students * Participate in and mentor scholarship in area(s) of expertise * Participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels * Demonstrate a commitment toward building an equitable and inclusive scholarly environment

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications 1. Earned doctoral degree in Health Services Administration or related field 2. Documented excellence in teaching 3. Evidence of student engagement (e.g., engaged learning, community or civic engagement) and student development 4. Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive and accessible environment within and beyond the classroom 5. Evidence of a scholarly agenda and engagement in scholarly activity commensurate with rank 6. Evidence of professional service at the state and/or national level in the academic or healthcare setting Preferred Qualifications 1. Documented experience managing academic program and AUPHA certification processes 2. Evidence of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting educational assessment data for continuous program improvement 3. Evidence of experience or expertise in teaching a variety of healthcare administration courses, including but not limited to: ambulatory care, health analytics, healthcare economics, healthcare finance, healthcare law and ethics, health statistics, quality management and/or operational leadership 4. Record of scholarly dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and/or creative works 5. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with faculty across disciplines and departments 6. Documented experience with interprofessional/interdisciplinary education or practice
