The Coordinator's leadership will ensure that the team provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive support to all clients.

Purpose

The Refugee Resettlement Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating the efforts of the ESL/Cultural Orientation/Education Navigator, the Health Navigator, and Case Aides. This role ensures the effective delivery of educational, cultural, and health services to newly arriving refugees. The Coordinator will work closely with these Navigators, Case Aides, the Resettlement Program Manager, and other team members to ensure comprehensive support and successful integration of refugees into the community. Additionally, this role involves direct client services, connecting refugees to various community resources to aid their integration.

Responsibilities

Supervision and Coordination:

 

  • Oversee the activities and performance of the ESL/Cultural Orientation/Education Navigator, Health Navigator, and Case Aides.
  • Ensure coordination between educational, cultural orientation, and health services to provide a holistic support system for refugees.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Navigators and Case Aides to review progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with program goals.

Program Development and Implementation:

 

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of ESL, cultural orientation, and health services.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure all programs adhere to the requirements of the Cooperative Agreement with the Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, and other relevant agreements.

Client Services:

 

  • Ensure that refugees receive comprehensive and timely support in areas including ESL classes, cultural orientation, education navigation, and health services.
  • Address escalated issues from Navigators and Case Aides to ensure clients' needs are met effectively.
  • Promote a culturally sensitive approach to service delivery, respecting the diverse backgrounds of refugee clients.
  • Connect clients with additional community resources to aid integration, such as local food banks, diaper banks, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, family support services, and more.

Training and Development:

 

  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for Navigators and Case Aides to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure Navigators and Case Aides are up-to-date with the latest information and best practices in refugee resettlement, education, and healthcare.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the program at community meetings, forums, and other relevant events.
  • Advocate on behalf of refugee clients to ensure their needs are recognized and met by com unity resources.

Reporting and Documentation:

 

  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and confidential case records by Navigators and Case Aides.
  • Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements, generating reports on program outcomes, client progress, and service utilization.
  • Utilize data to inform program development and demonstrate program impact to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education Requirements : Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, education, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in refugee resettlement, social services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in program coordination and staff supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and community partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Fluency in a second language is an asset.

  • Requires a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
