DESCRIPTION OF WORK In your role as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 at the Department of Transportation, you will be involved in various tasks related to collecting and testing pavement data. You will also be responsible for reporting the results to the pavement evaluation testing (PET) analysis section and assisting with the maintenance of the roadway management system (RMS). Your duties will include supporting technicians with testing, driving vehicles for specialized activities, and participating in the statewide pavement evaluation and testing programs and location reference system (LRS) programs. Additionally, you will assist other technicians and management personnel with initiatives and duties related to roadway inventory & testing unit and pavement evaluation and testing. You will also be responsible for creating and duplicating the annual straight-line diagram (SLD) refresh. Furthermore, you will perform specialized activities for PennDOT's automated data collection, inventory and analysis of pavement distress (videologging) program, following management objectives, PennDOT policies and procedures, american society for testing and materials (ASTM) standards, and american association of state highway and transportation officials (AASHTO) specifications, along with other assigned duties. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires possession of a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
