DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training assignments to learn about the various functions of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department regarding network adequacy, plan administration, and appeals with specific focus on health insurance companies. You will be learning about the application of regulatory standards and procedures as well as Pennsylvania insurance laws related to the analysis of insurer networks, provider contracts, and reporting. You will be responsible for performing data research using the templates and documents submitted by companies, including the retrieval and aggregation of data, and performing data analysis noting any trends or anomalies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Summer internship. Potential part-time or full-time employment, 25 to 37.5 hours per week. Work schedule will be flexible within 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office at least one day a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Spring of 2024 graduates may also be considered for this program. Enrolled in a business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, social science or behavioral sciences, statistics, or a related program. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
