Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a member of the executive leadership team charged with managing financial-related activities to improve and maintain the financial health of the council. This position oversees Finance (including Troop and Service Unit banking), Product Program and Retail areas to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively while complying with appropriate federal and state guidelines. This position will offer a six-figure salary and executive level benefits!
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the senior leadership team to execute the strategic plan that focuses on mission critical, long-term goals with measurable objectives.
Provides leadership and oversight of the Finance, Troop/SU Banking.
Manages Finance’s day-to-day operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and financial reporting, and alignment with accounting standards.
Cultivates and manages the Councils banking, endowment, and investment management financial relationships.
Develops, administers, and monitors performance of operating plans and budgets, by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
Prepares and issues financial statements and reports for the Board, CEO and Executive Team.
Ensures that all council financial operations are carried out in compliance with GAAP, local, state, federal, and not-for-profit regulations, guidelines, and laws.
Oversees financial and operational audits, i.e. 403b, 457b plan audits, employee benefit plans, worker’s compensation, accounting, and payroll functions and prepares regulatory filings, i.e. IRS Form 941s, 990s, and 5500s.
Oversees Product Program to assure the financial success of the Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product Program.
Job Qualifications
Master's degree in accounting, finance or similar preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field required. 10-12 years of progressive finance experience required. CPA preferred.
