Scope of Job
Responsible for coordinating and implementing a clinical integrated service unit to deliver high value to patients according to the vision and direction provided by UT Health RGV leadership. Provide leadership across the clinical enterprise, collaborating effectively with Integrated Service Unit chairs, Division Chiefs, and Medical Directors.
Description of Duties
Works with AVP , Clinical Operations, and the Integrated Service Unit Chair to develop and implement growth strategies across the integrated service unit.
Manages the patient experience at assigned practices within the assigned department and works closely with the Integrated Service Unit Chair to resolve issues within the department.
Works closely with decision support on clinic metrics and quarterly P&L’s.
Effectively coordinates with leaders across UT Health RGV and the School of Medicine in providing leadership and oversight for designated strategic activities.
Partners with the providers and faculty to optimize the delivery of patient care.
Responsible for overall functioning of practices including management of medical office managers with emphasis in business and clinical operations.
Analyzes service level data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for service enhancements. Oversees patient schedule management and financial performance.
Manages patient, provider, and staff satisfaction and recommends solutions and changes as needed.
Complies with billing practices, revenue cycle, human resources, governance, and organizational dynamics.
Develops and fosters collegial relationships with physicians, faculty, and staff.
Plans, develops and manages operational plans, budgets, and tactic for practices in the assigned department.
Leads service improvements through review of quality and best practices, including identifying gaps in services and making recommendations on how to ensure the quality of the services delivered is continuously improved.
As part of the senior leadership, participates in developing strategies for successful operations and growth.
Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of UT Health RGV .

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare or Healthcare Management from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Masters in Healthcare Administration or Master’s in Business Administration.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Five (5) years of professional experience to include, but not limited to, the responsibility for overall functioning of practices including management of medical office managers with emphasis in business and clinical operations, experience in management and/or administration of service line related programs.
Preferred Experience
Physician practice, outpatient management experience.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office/Healthcare environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Solution oriented with the ability to think strategically and creatively in decision-making. In-depth knowledge of healthcare best practices, quality improvement methodologies, regulatory standards and ambulatory operations.
